Don't link American Samizdat near often enough. And I worry the tourists are starting to think my unrelenting hatred of right-wingers means I'm a liberal. Been over this before, kids. Search is in the sidebar. And comments are a privilege, not a right.
Same post, easier-to-read black text on white background at reading & writing, if like me you don't have a glare-resistant screen and were too cheap to get the coating on your glasses.
And praise Kuan-Yin, General Jinjur takes command of her Army of Revolt and gives a summary of the whole [conservative (white)] wimmen vs. [conservative (white)] men blooger thing I've been pretty much ignoring the past few days.
What, I'm supposed to pretend to give a fuck?
Oh, right, the affairs of my genetic superiors are always of interest. I tend to forget when they start boring the hell out of me.
Case in point, Instapundit links that MSNBC/Mandela interview with the description, "NELSON MANDELA is making a fool of himself."
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll mention his African relatives-by-engagement shortly to ward off Baseless Allegations of Racism.
Curiousity gets the better of me. I check in with Kim du Toit.
I wish I wasn't so old. I'd enlist in a heartbeat. Surely there must be something I could do to help... I'd offer to lend my skills as an interrogator at Gitmo, but I don't know what the official policy is towards applying a propane torch to the suspects' genitals.
Nope, nothing about Mandela. Ah well, perhaps later.
Update 9/12: You can read Kim's thoughts on the Mandela interview now. I'm not fucking linking that shit; use the previous one and scroll.
That Mr. du Toit, Laurence Simon, Mister Charlie and the fun-loving kids at lgf are still alive just proves that there is no Osama Claus. because I sure as hell didn't get what I wanted.
Them. Dying. Painfully.

OMG..THANK YOU for putting it out there. And here I was worried that it was probably fucked up for being less than enthusiastic or patriotic about this day. at least I know now that I am not the only one.
No problem. I shouldn't let the whole "world united by grief" thing annoy me as much as it does, but the people being enthusiastically patriotic really need to hear a healthy "fuck you" today of all days.
Won't help, but it makes me feel better.
I'm always pleasantly surprised that you read me, Aaron, much less link anything I say.
I'm always hesitant to comment here, because the discussions leave me aware that liberal white tourist chicks like me, are, well, um ... I like the Phil Ochs ref, though. And the Oz nickname.
While I'm being a dumb tourist, can I ask why you keep reading Instapundit, Kim du Toit, etc.? It seems like such a waste of time to me when each day merely brings a bunch of new renditions of the same old. I needed brain floss after reading a couple of the blogs I wandered through to get those quotes; I can't imagine reading them on a daily-weekly basis. Is it just my feminist lack of sense of humor showing, or am I missing the point?
My guess would be that you've "gotta know your enemies" and what's scary, if not all that surprising, is that these "pundit" voices are the dominant ones in our culture right now be they the warbloggers or Bill O'Reilly or any of the talking heads out there right now.
Its less about asking questions and more about providing answers for them (at least from my perspective) and if you disagree with their answers , there are a mountain of ditto heads to shut you down. Because that's how we determine what's best, its who shouts the loudest and who gets listened to.
Because really we shouldn't be asking questions. If we ask questions, the terrorists have won.
I was going to write something about the whole sexism thing...
and then I realized I don't read any of the "A-List" blogs so I don't really care.
But I like journals and good writing and non-traditional news so I'm sure I don't count in the conversation anyway.
Ginger, a true tourist would have skipped the Oz reference and angrily demanded to know why I hate all white people so much. I'm afraid you're too intelligent to deserve the title.
Bit surprised anyone still buys the "White-Hating Coon" routine at all, but eh.
Jason nailed why I read the special needs kids, except using less profanity and sounding more analytical. He's Professor X, I'm Magneto.
And I don't read 'em as much, or as often, as posts here would make it seem. They're just always good for a cheap laugh.
"A-List." And the "A" stands for. . .?
Knowing the enemy is a useful thing. The sad part is that the people who most need to hear what you have to say aren't likely to listen.
I go through periods of being more and less confrontational with the mow-ron brigade. Right now I'm not feeling like shouting into the void is worthwhile, but I'm not sorry to see someone kicking ass and taking names.
I thought the A-list was supposed to be the "cool web kids" like Rebecca Blood who were going to be dethroned by the mighty warblog brigade, right before they threw down those librul media icons like CNN and the NY Times. They're dangerous in packs (and, as Jason points out, as reinforcers of a bad paradigm) but warbloggers vastly overestimate their personal/individual influence.
But if warbloggers are now the A-list, I guess A is for <must stop snickering> "anti-idiotarian". Carries the connotations of "holier than thou" and the A word Aaron was undoubtedly thinking all wrapped up in one!
If you guys are Magneto and Professor X, I'd aspire to be a young Rogue. As long as I don't have to be Jubilee.
Q: How many Lesbian Feminist Sepratists does it take to screw in a light bulb.
A: That is not funny.
Still laughing at that one 12 years later...
Laura, you know you wrong. . .
Ginger, I'm not sure about the Rogue thing. Anna Paquin elicits the same reaction from me as Kirsten Dunst, thinking, "Hey, isn't that that little girl from. . ." then running around going "EW! EW! EW!" the rest of the day.
I'm required by law to suggest you don't want to be Jubilee because she's a person of color, but we all know it's because she's annoying and useless.
Is she still wearing that Why-Didn't-Frank-Miller-or-DC-sue? outfit?
