Its a raw night
Who wants to bar fight
Well come on alright
And I dare a motherfucker to come in my face
Baseball bats
I got something for that
It goes clack clack clack clack
So I dare a motherfucker to come in my face
Its so real
How I feel
Its this society
That makes a nigga want to kill
Im just straight ill
Riding my motorcycle down the streets
While the government is sounding like strippers to me
They keep saying
But I dont want to hear it
Ooo baby you want me?
Ooo baby you want me?
Ooo baby you want me?
Well you can get this lapdance here for free
Well you can get this lapdance here for free
Well you can get this lapdance here for free
See, you gots to make the mental disorders work for you.
Like if you know you're going to suffer from insomnia anyway, why not drive to Illinois, unpack the car, turn around, and drive back to Minnesota?
Time it right, and you can hear the "Too Much Bloody Noise" (British-influenced Rock) and "Automated Hip Hop" (what is sounds like) shows on WSUM- Madison Student Radio. Sigur Rós and N.E.R.D.'s Lapdance in rapid succession, enthusiastic djs who sound like human beings (albeit very young and way too wired human beings), no effn' advertisements. . . It's a beautiful thing.
Plus, snow to welcome you back. And announcers on NPR saying things about two to five inches of accumulation.
Since your brain shut down completely somewhere around Beloit, you can safely pretend you imagined that last one.
If you avoid looking out the window.
Update: In the comments, Jason mentions the too-sexy-for-MTV video for Lapdance. See if for yourself at the AV page of N*E*R*D's site.
They also have a nicer version of the lyrics, which can't easily be linked directly. So, um, the link no longer matches what's on this page.
Meh.

What's weird about Lapdance is that it's never been a real hit yet it never goes away. N.E.R.D. shot themselves in the foot by making a video "too sexy" for MTV to play then re-did the entire album with live instrumentation after the hip-hop version of the single was getting radio spins. The change didn't go over well.
But the song continues to float around in both versions because music supervisors of tv shows really like it. It's getting a lot of current videoplay because it's been prominently used on the Fox series, Fastlane.
And still no one seems to have In Search Of... and thus is missing out an excellent album and, I think, 2 guest appearances by Kelis.
Who has also been getting some airplay on mtv2 lately with her first video, Caught Out There, which may be one of my favorite video's of all time.
She's crazy dontchaknow.
And thus...sexy in all the ways that I like.
please ignore all errant apostrophes. Thanks.
Er, Jason?
What did MTV object to in that video?
And has the crazy woman love ever ended well?
no. never well. generally provides for good stories though.
although I'm not privy to censorship discussions or decisions, I would imagine it had to do with the same gender kissing and the general tone of the video.
And before you even bring up Fiona Apple's Criminal, which has a far more jarring tone, premise, and visual presentation, ya'll know hip hop videos are combed over with a different brush....especially when the women in this video are of a lighter complexion.
