I always forget about Anil Dash:
Those of us in the majority, who are of all political stripes, correctly see stridency and cliquish, back-slapping, jargon-laden repetitious rantings as neither productive nor useful. That you have tacked "-pundit" onto an adjective and then suffixed .blogspot.com on the end of it does not suddenly mean that anyone with any decision making power about international politics suddenly gives a shit about your opinion.
Probably because I'm jealous.
Would mention that George noticed ESR's manifesto, too, but this would involve admitting I'd visited his site, and noticed that M.T. v. 2.5 link in the sidebar.
And that's not gonna happen.
Considered wandering around the links on the blogdex sources page for the manifesto, but realized that a) not everyone is as sane as Anil Dash -- DailyPundit and VodkaPundit are listed, after all -- and b) they've probably all upgraded, without problems, and I'd start feeling guilty.
Not guilty enough to spend the five minutes it would take to upload files, mind you.
Would it even take five minutes? Michelle? Jason? You're the ones acting like characters in an ABC After-School Special on peer pressure, how complicated was it?

not even 5 minutes, sir.
download, upload, delete a file or two, and click "on" fun features like automatic pinging...do your thing, don't be skurrd
I think there's actually another new version of MT coming out next week...2.51...at least, that's what kd says. And we all know that kd is a goddess in the know.
Be sure to turn off your automatic pinging when doing stuff like linking to music files, though, or MT will get EXTREMELY CONFUSED and so will you.
It will take no time at all and it's completely painless.
Go on. Do it. You know you'll like it.
Do the upgrade damn you!
I think ESR is kind an idiot. I felt this way before he started happily hopping in bed with every right wing fool that caressed his ego. Yuck. Bad mental picture. Please accept my apologies. I've always had a problem with that free market will guide us to the future style of thinking. It's too close in spirit to the "free rocketships for everyone when taxation is abolished" philosophy that Aaron has mentioned here before. While the open source (as opposed to free software) people can't be bought but they sure can be flattered into endorsing a lot of completely stupid shit.
2.51 will be out in a few days, and it's a breeze. Or pay them to install! :)
and when you do upgrade, why not go with that new default template? it's more accessible to those with visual impairments (has scalable text), and it's nice and different and not the big blue bar at the top. i'm just sayin'.
goneaway, I was on the fence with the ESR-hate until his "Golly, I seem to be fucking rich" essay.
Anil, pay them to do the upgrade? You confuse me with ESR. Well, before the crash, anyway, but he probably cashed out and bought lots of guns.
kd, I begin to see a theme developing.
Michelle, forget it. And I'm not taking up smoking, either.
Not a word, Corinna.
