Went to the Wolves game with Redpac last night. . . and somehow managed to miss Lauriean and Ursula, who were there too. Most likely, I walked past them, figured black women at a hockey game were clearly figments of my imagination, and ignored them.
Well, maybe next time.
Apropos of nothing, the Chicago Freeze (of the North American Hockey League) are no longer a going concern, are they?

The Freeze are gone, but the Chicago Steel live on. The Steel are in a more respected league, the USHL. The USHL is a certified Tier I junior league. This mean kids from this league are of a quality to get drafted by NHL teams, or at the least earn college scholarships from major hockey schools like Minnesota or Cornell or Renssalear Polytechnic Institute (I'm not joking about the last one either).
It's not polished hockey but the kids go all out and play with energy every game. Support the kids!
What are the odds indeed. It would have been good to meet up with you. So in that you are here in Chicago, I'll be sure to invite you out for future events.
If you didn't see me, you probably heard me. I was the one that screamed bloody murder at the shock of seeing the first wave of "pyrotechnics." I was TOTALLY not expecting that.
That was you?!?
I mean, no, I heard nothing.
And the pyro made me jump first time I saw it, too. That, and Redpac insists on sitting behind where the players come out, and I always feel like my eyebrows are gonna get singed off. . .
Ursula, thanks. I should warn you that I'm an extraordinarily boring person in, um, person.
Redpac, coolness. Are there any women's hockey teams here, or that strictly a Canadian/Minnesotan thing?
