Official Uppity-Negro.com Statement on Condoleezza Rice

Very few things rank higher on the hilarity scale than white conservatives accusing anyone, particularly those nebulous "leftists," of sexism and racism.

I'd suggest they look in mirrors, but they don't cast reflections, do they?

I agree. But why they call them Leftists. What seems strange to me, is that while Kerry is considered to be extremely liberal, here in the UK he'd be considered a moderate, his views check out about bang on centre with the political compass. In the yankeeland it would seem to me that what you call leftists are just slightly-less-rightists. Racism? Hahaha... and Dubya... the guy who let racism increase, mr. Racial Profiling.

Ikkuh again. Regarding Condoleezza Rice this time, getting to the point - yes... damn conservatives are being absurd.

And I still say -- what is UP with that HAIR?!?

MMmmm..let us actually look at the history of republicJuly 2, 1964: Democratic President Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act after former Klansman Robert Byrd's 14-hour filibuster and the votes of 22 other Senate Democrats (including Tennessee's Al Gore, Sr.) failed to scuttle the measure. Illinois Republican Everett Dirksen rallied 26 GOP senators and 44 Democrats to invoke cloture and allow the bill's passage. According to John Fonte in the January 9, 2003, National Review, 82 percent of Republicans so voted, versus only 66 percent of Democrats.
ans, Democrats and race.

-- May 6, 1960: Eisenhower signs the GOP's 1960 Civil Rights Act after it survived a five-day, five-hour filibuster by 18 Senate Democrats

I had no idea that you "censor" on this site but maybe you will allow different views. I thought liberals were supposed to be for Free Speech well anyway here is some more info on Republicans, Democrats and racism.
-- October 16, 1901: GOP President Theodore Roosevelt invited to the White House as its first black dinner guest Republican educator Booker T. Washington. The pro-Democrat Richmond Times newspaper warned that consequently, "White women may receive attentions from Negro men." As Toni Marshall wrote in the November 9, 1995, Washington Times, when Roosevelt sought reelection in 1904, Democrats produced a button that showed their presidential nominee, Alton Parker, beside a white couple while Roosevelt posed with a white bride and black groom. The button read: "The Choice Is Yours."
-- President G.W. Bush named Condoleezza Rice America's first black female NSC chief, then our second (consecutive) black secretary of State. Just last month, one-time Klansman Robert Byrd and other Senate Democrats stalled Rice's confirmation for a week. Amid unanimous GOP support, 12 Democrats and Vermont Independent James Jeffords opposed Rice — the most "No" votes for a State designee since 14 senators frowned on Henry Clay in 1825."

CondoLYING Rice,Colon KISSING Powell, Armstrong UNCLE TOM Williams, Allen NO Keyes are all examples of why the black race stopped progressing except them of course. As long as their careers are upwardly mobile, getting consultant & TV spots, political appointments, with ward robe provided. They will continue to look the other way as our votes are trashed. And we continue to die in police custody & are brutalized. And ignore the growing gaps in health care, lending & credit, life span, infant mortality, justice system injustice on & on & on. There have been no real black leaders since X & King.

I would like to add Justice Clarence HEAD SERVANT
Thomas to my list in the comment on Condolying Rice please. Thanks.

warriorjason,

You are only telling half of the story. Yes TR did invite Booker T. to the white house, but he also stated that he believed in negro inferiority, stating that a a whole blacks were thousands of years behind whites. He thought individual blacks could achieve certain heights, but found the entire race inferior. It is also less than accurate to draw a straight line between the modern GOP and the GOP at the turn of the previous century. The modern GOP is a product of several streams, including heavy recruitment of southern racists upset with the advancement of civil rights.

ConndoWHITE Rice ?

Why knock Rice, Powell and the other blacks who make it to the seat of power? It's better that they are coming up rather than the US government remaining an all white club. It's hard enough for blacks to make it in the US, those that do should be admired not torn down and pissed on by jealous members of their own community.

Blindly supporting a person because of their race requires no more thought than blindly opposing someone for the same reason. Both are the result of turning one's brain off and simply pulling one's opinions from a pre-packed box.More work is required to formulate opinions on a case by case basis. In the case of Rice and Powell,I would have to say that black is as black does, and if you disregard entirely the things that they say and just look at the things they do,one conclusion just sort of jumps right out.Unless you are a member of that extremely small group of white folks that are obscenely wealthy, you would be better off with the devil himself occupying the office of Powell or Rice.I applaud no one for merely elevating themself to a position of power.I do however applaud those that make the world a better place for their people.I am forced to just keep my hands in my pockets when it comes to Rice and Powell.

Verbose. what's your source on that? (apart from your overactive imagination that is). Warriorjason is the only person that has introduced facts to the discussion. Your contribution is demagogic bullshit, at best..

newton,

Check out the 2nd volume of Edmund Morris' truly excellent biography of TR ... Theodore Rex.

There you will find reference to both the respectful relationship between Booker T. and TR, and to TR's more questionable overall views on race. Let's give the man credit for being ahead of his time in certain ways. But not everything that doesn't fit your world view is automatically bullshit.

Also, let's try to run that timeline a little closer to the present and explain the Nixon Southern strategy, or the flight into the Republican party of the likes of Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond. I guarantee you it was not so they could better support the rights of African Americans.
