Anyway, so. As is my wont, went to the Brown Elephant Resale Shop last weekend, and found a couple things that those of you with childrens might be interested in.
- Lemony Snicket's *THE BAD BEGINNING* (it set me back $1 American)
A set of (all?) eight of Laura Ingalls Wilder's LITTLE HOUSE books. Not in the best of shape, but in a fetching box with (faded) artwork. It was all of two bucks for the lot.-- Snagged. You snooze, you lose.
Turned on the hearings. Uh oh. Condi has her pissed-off look. And they ain't even ask the first question yet. . .
Anyway, since I'm unlikely to adopt, and have forgotten what sex is at this point, anyone out there who has kids want these?

My kids already have 'em.
Thanks for askin' though!
Gosh, I'd gladly take the Laura Ingalls Wilder stuff! My copies fell to bits years ago, and the WIld Woman is now ready for chapter books at bedtime!
Garrity, not a problem. Just sent an email asking for your postal addy, since I've managed to misplace it since sending the check for the laptop. . .
Michael, no worries. What did your kids think of the Little House books? Think I only read a few of 'em, because the tv show was on when I were a youth.
My oldest read 'em several years ago, when she was in between her Goosebumps & Baby Sitters Club phases.
She says they're "passable" -- mind you, she's deep into vampire fiction these days (she just finished L.A. Banks' second one, "The Awakening" - I read it as well; not bad, I've read better, but not bad). I suppose that's my fault for being wrapped up in urban fantasy of varying degrees recently.
My son won't touch 'em. He's plowed through all the Harry Potter books and has just finished book ten of the Lemony Snicket books. Now he's bugging me to find out when book eleven is due to be released.
