I dunno, I kind'a liked Captain Confederacy. . .

. . . which was written by Will Shetterly, who also isn't updating very frequently but has much better reasons for doing so. The author, one-time Minnesota gubernatorial candidate, and never met him but he seems like a nice enough sort (and that'd be hyphenated if I wasn't worried it would [fail to] wrap horribly) was, in my opinion wrongly, taken to task for Naderite leanings over in this thread at Electrolite.

He also reprinted/posted his story The Princess Who Kicked Butt, which appeared in Cricket and is therefore automatically good, on his blog.

So there.

I can't remember if I ever met Will or Emma, but I corresponded with them in the dark days before e-mail...

Sweetheart, you have perfectly good reasons for not posting! They're just not the kind of thing you can easily write up and still have a perky funny well-liked blog. Not that people will dislike you, au contraire, we will love you just as much as before.

But there's always the danger that trying to craft the reason just write turns out horribly wrong and one ends up sounding too "teen angsty' even though we know you're not that either.

It's hard to write about difficult complex emotional issues. They leave one feeling tremendously exposed, even when one tries very hard to tell only enough to make us understand the basics. The Need-To-Know facts that make up your dossier.

Then, of course, it's none of our business anyway. We take what you give us and we're happy with it, by gum, or we are not worthy to be reading here in the first place.

Please do not feel bad. You have no reason to feel bad. Though I know that is easy to say and hard to do.

Remember that we all love you, or we wouldn't be here.

Love,

Hanna
