AAARGH. . . CAT HAD ACID FOR BLOOD!!
MPR just used the intro to "Forgot About Dre" as a bumper between stories. Wish they'd go back to using "Silent Hills" by Lanterna, but that's just because Henry Frayne was the shoe-gazer part of The Moon Seven Times.
Lynn Canfield was the ethereal female vocals, but there's a court order asking me not to mention her again. So, um, let's pretend I didn't. FYI: All Things Considered is doing a story on GTA3 this afternoon.
I got a email from Neopets! All kinds of neat-o merchandise will be available at Claire's soon! Isn't that the ginchiest? Except I think my Neopet is dead. I haven't checked on her in. . . wait, it's July already?
And today's Narbonic features Antonio Smith, Forensic Linguist. He's the bestest character in the strip. Well, besides Mel. Big Freakin' Guns, poofy hair bows and visible bra straps, you know?
Big Freakin' Gun is sometimes abbreviated (acronymated?) to BFG. There's this one episode of Reboot! where Bob, the main character (except for that one season. . .) asks for a BFG, but gets a guitar instead.
Never mind. It works in context.
There's another episode where Dot uses that Moby Dick quote, "He tasks me, and I shall have him," and the other characters just sort-of stare at her in silent terror, then make a big show out of doing something else and pointedly not looking in her direction.
That works in context, too.
I'd heard that using a backup personality to prevent going totally off the deep end into bitter raging crankdom carries a risk of bits of it staying around when it's no longer needed. But that's crazy talk. I am clearly back to my old, cranky self.
