What's a penny made of?
The Scotsman, along with other places, reports that Jeremy Morse's attorney intends to claim in court that Mitchell Crooks' video only shows part of the story of Donovan Jackson's beating. Prior to the start of the video, says the police report on the incident, "the handcuffed youth grabbed his crotch."
Not feeling up to going all Roseanne Rosannadanna, pretending to mistake the antecedent of "his" and explaining how this was some Michael Jackson tribute gone awry. Except I just did. Never mind.
Linguistics geek jokes rank slightly lower than ancient SNL jokes in the humor hierarchy.
Still, you have to laugh about stuff like this. Defense/coping mechanism. There's a reason most of the best -- or at least most popular -- American comedians have been people of color.
(Well, yeah, I could just say black, but then I couldn't fit Margaret Cho in there. Yes, the obsession is disturbing. Shut up)
David Horowitz briefly weighs in on the Jackson beating at the re-redesigned Front Page Magazine. Briefly, then goes into a personal anecdote:
The other day I was walking with my wife along the Santa Monica Mall, when we were accosted by a bow-tied Black Muslim peddling copies of Farrakhans party paper, The Final Call. When he thrust a copy of the paper at me, I said in a not so friendly tone, No, I dont want it. Taken aback, he asked, Whats the matter, dont you like black people? I said, Actually, I like black people. What I dont like is black people who dont like white people.
Have I mentioned lately that David Horowitz is an elitist Ashkenazi cunt? No? How about Andrea?
Note the language in this little piece: "accosted", "thrust". He's clearly, obviously, pathetically trying to draw a comparison between Donovan Jackson's beating and his own encounter with the Nation of Domination, except a) the cops are authorized in the use of force and b) no force was used against him. Somebody tried selling him a paper he didn't want. Big fucking deal.
Sorry, not selling, "peddling". Have a look at the contexts where that word's usually used.

There follows a discussion of the Michael Jackson/Sony fracas, which gets more attention than Officer Morse deciding it's still Giuliani Time, and some mud flung at arch-villain Al Sharpton, and then something about how the film The Opposite of Sex shows the blindness of Israeli peaceniks. . . like Right Wing News, I cannot do it justice. You have to read this sort of thing for yourself.
Or you could do something useful with your time instead.
Which begs the question, what are you doing here?
Update: I should point out that, as an oh-so-politically-correct liberal (*cough*), I leave the comments section open and encourage the expression of dissenting opinions. I should also point out that most conservatives who have wandered in in the past ran crying home to mommy when they realized we shoot back around here. The Great White Hunters are not accustomed to this behaviour in their prey.
